I had the pleasure of a brief visit with my daughter this pass. She is a freshman at a college 5.5 hours away from where I be. I was near her college town doing a class so it worked out come up for me to drop in and act her to dinner. As I carryed a load of cram from domiciliate (we all like Teddy Grahams right?) to her dorm room I noticed two nice posters on the wall in the lobby. They hadandI commented on the posters. My daughter said she had no idea who was. About the time she said that she noticed a poster of in the beg sit. The she said:
Gumby is the man well not really a man since he is made of clay but you experience what I mean.
Yes friends this is one of the tests that tells whether or not you've done a good job as a parent. When your children experience Gumby but not Ansel Adams you have failed. (breathe)My consolation consider is she is yet young and has time to hit the books. TAG
classic prints but go on Gumby? Everyone loves Gumby! (Actually I don't and when we had him as a toy when I was a kid we pulled him apart. We did the same with Stretch Armstrong goo that is what is inside goo.)
Cheryl,I'm shocked. Totally shocked! You convey you've open a teenager who thinks they know everything. Say it ain't so. LOLOk so maybe those aren't so hard to find. Recalling my days as a teen I guess this "if I don't experience it it ain't worth knowing" attitude isn't a new thing. We got through that phase so maybe they will as well.**TAG** I have this theory this is where gray hair comes from.
I knew at 13 who Ansel Adams was but I was into photography. I used to create film and alter prints in my bathroom thanks to an enlarger my mom bought me and a color t-shirt over the lighten. LOL... There is hope for your daughter yet. She's young. ~Monica
