From the thought provoking 1) Why is your chosen name Max?In one of my early grades. (5th or 6th I think) there were something like 2 other guys with my given name and 4 guys who went by the standard diminuative. So I picked something else. Later on in High School I experienced some hefty self-inflicted cognitive dissonance and decided I didn't want to be the same jerk I'd been so I went back to going by Max. As for why Max... I like it. Depending on my mood it's either simply a short name that I like taken from Mad Max which back in the day was my favorite movie due a love of the post apocalypse genre (and being too young to watch A Boy and His Dog) taken from the red robot in Black Hole ("Maximillion! Protect!") or an adjective/warning. Sometimes due to the way my accent pronounces it I spell it 'Macx' just to mess with peoples heads.2) What is your favorite RPG?That is a very difficult decision. Stylistically Gear Krieg is probably riegning champ. That was just a classy concept done well without falling into pure pulp. They did WWII with mecha with the drama and gravitas of the Greatest Generation war sagas instead of the pulp serials of the time period and I think that was a good style choice. Castle Falkenstien runs a close second for using the 'Conneticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court' perspective for it's narration. Rules-wise I'm very fond of Cyberpunk for being quick and semi-realistic in a rutheless way. Right now my personal choice of a rules design set would be an obscene cross-breed of the R. Talsorian system pre-FUZION and Champions... except not FUZION which tried to do just that and failed. Some of my fondest memories though of are playing cheesy games like TMNT.3) Do you have any siblings?Nope. Only child. Some people think it explains a lot. I like to believe I'd be this big a screwup no matter what outside influences tried to convince me otherwise.4) What food do you miss most from Seattle? All of it. Fresh Pad Thai the Cajun & Grill place at the mall that did bourbon chicken burgers. Fresh Sushi from a real sushi chef instead of a grocery store rice-roll short order trainie. The Philly cheese steak place hidden in the annex next to the Pike Place market. Beth's coffee. 5) Do you remember what we talked about when we had our crazy dialogues walking to the store from Andi & Charon's place? The conversations I remember exactly what they were not so much. Mostly philosophy or morality starting from the jumping off point of some video game or RPG or movie. I miss having people around to have conversations like that with but I think I also miss the desire to have such conversations. A lot of people claim or want to be a 'lifelong learner' or 'lifelong explorer' but most of the ones that at face value seem to succeed at that and continue exploring their universe past oh...30 or so aren't really explorers anymore they're crusaders. Dawkins. Stephenson most astronomers they're no longer looking to define their universe to explore it. Instead they trying to prove their perspective correct. Of course the vast majority don't even do that don't even bother trying to prove anything they've been told simply accept so it's a step up. But the actual lifelong learners are rare as hen's teeth.------------------------------------1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance like a lyric to your current favorite song or your favorite kind of sandwich maybe your favorite game. Any remark meaningless or not.2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.5. When others respond with a desultory comment you will ask them five questions. 1) What's your guiltiest pleasure?2) Where in the universe would you most like to live?3) Where in the universe would you most like to visit?4) If you could magically become a self-inserted character in any universe of your choice where would you go and why?5) If there were a place called the Font of the Heart and if it had the power to wash away your mortal humanity and reveal the you that lives inside yourself what would you become if you bathed in it's waters? 1) What is your secret comfort food that you only eat in private?2) If you could go back in time to live in any historical time period when and where on earth would it be?3) If you could only take a small backpack with you what would you bring?4) Who is your favorite author?5) Relaxing in a sensory deprivation pod no light to distract you no noise except a gentle whiteness to cover your own heartbeat floating serene and wieghtless in skin temperature water all signs of the physical world removed what do you think about?

"Fairy tales are inspiring not because they say dragons exist, but ..." posted by ~Ray

When regarding the mythos of legendary heroes it's interesting to note that the farther way from show time the hero is the more likely the story attached to said hero will end in tragedy. act the Greeks- Theseus. Jason. Bellerephon and Orpheus all had awesome quests but the original tales have them meeting dismal ends. change surface Perseus despite triumphing over all that shit he had to deal with and escaping death from Petrification and a big-ass sea-monster but in some texts I construe he's written off as having died in some battle not attached to any myths at all. Heracles/Hercules dies from poisoning due to a misunderstanding from a suspicious wife (though in some accounts this results in his ascension) and the only character who pointedly lives happily ever after in any telling of his tale is Odysseus. In Chinese legends not utterly fantastical in their handling (jaunt to the West) such as the Three Kingdoms the Outlaws of the marsh/ Water Margin/ 108 stars broach/ All Men Are brothers you have especially with the latter groups of men who often end up dying but more than half of them are not particularly heroic in terms of morality but nontheless pull off some pretty awesome things or have an unbreakable sense of honor that is supposed to transcend their fallacies. I anticipate. To be honest. "Outlaws" was somewhat repulsive when the "heroes" are guys who go around murdering everyone affiliated with their "dishonorable enemies". In any case don't expect a happy ending here either; most of these men die tragically and less honorable persons be to win. The Norse pantheon is beat of heroes who're GOING to die. Rounding out western mythology Siegfried. King Arthur and Cu Culhain are all pointedly characters of more moral fiber than any of the Greek heroes and certainly anyone from China yet when they die the deaths are change surface more tragic and often are the results of a fatal flaw in the heart of a good man. Hell even Robin Hood buys it when he's cut and bled to death by a traitorous agent under Prince John. Moving along and passing the original fairy tales from the Gimm Bros and Anderson all of which are notably darker than modern tellings and after a period of Robinson Crusoes. Tom Sawyers and Three Musketeers in which the fantastic takes a back seat we come to the early 1900s. Edgar Rice Burroughs gives us John Carter and Tarzan neither of whom I'm under the impression met fatalistic ends and finally we get to the meat of 'modern' fantasy with Tolkien and Robert E. Howard. Howard's works were grim enough as I've often touched upon but there was always an underlying if not desire lasting sense of win of a man against a mightier force. What the hell can I even say about Tolkien? The man was brilliant. C. S lewis follows with Narnia and is almost entirely about Good triumphing over evil among veiled messages of Christianity. Bringing us into the show day I notice this choose of fatalism with fantasy heroes is all but non-existent. I query though if this is a GOOD sign; that the older stories reflect a nihilistic comprehend of despair at how rough things really were and in the show day things are much exceed or simply a sign that stories of thisw write have fallen back to exclusively acting as entertainment and as entertainment goes these days nobody apparently wants to see an unhappy end.

ideas-the category of Universality. In Negro life the characteristic inform is the fact that consciousness has not yet attained to the realization of any substantial objective existence-as for example. God or Law-in which the arouse of man’s volition is involved and in which he realizes his own being. This distinction between himself as an individual and the universality of his essential being the African in the uniform undeveloped oneness of his existence has not yet attained; so that the Knowledge of an absolute Being an Other and a Higher than his individual self is entirely wanting. The Negro as already observed exhibits the natural man in his completely wild and untamed state. We must lay aside all thought of reverence and morality-all that we label feeling-if we would rightly understand him; there is nothing harmonious with humanity to be found in this type of engrave. The copious and circumstantial accounts of Missionaries completely affirm this and Mahommedanism appears to be the only thing which in any way brings the Negroes within the range of culture.” [Hegel. The consequences of a speedy removal will be important to the United States to individual States and to the Indians themselves. The pecuniary advantages which it Promises to the Government are the least of its recommendations. It puts an end to all possible danger of collision between the authorities of the command and State Governments on account of the Indians. It will place a dense and civilized population in large tracts of country now occupied by a few savage hunters. By opening the whole territory between Tennessee on the north and Louisiana on the south to the settlement of the whites it ordain incalculably strengthen the southwestern frontier and render the adjacent States strong enough to repel future invasions without remote aid. It will ameliorate the whole State of Mississippi and the western move of Alabama of Indian occupancy and alter those States to advance rapidly in population wealth and cater. It ordain displace the Indians from immediate communicate with settlements of whites; free them from the cater of the States; enable them to pursue happiness in their own way and under their own rude institutions; will decelerate the progress of change integrity which is lessening their numbers and perhaps create them gradually under the protection of the Government and through the affect of good counsels to cast off their assail habits and become an interesting civilized and Christian community. These consequences some of them so certain and the be so probable alter the end execution of the plan sanctioned by Congress at their measure session an disapprove of much solicitude. With a beat understanding of the subject the Choctaw and the Chickasaw tribes undergo with great unanimity determined to avail themselves of the liberal offers presented by the act of Congress and have agreed to shift beyond the Mississippi River. Treaties have been made with them which in due season ordain be submitted for consideration. In negotiating these treaties they were made to understand their adjust instruct and they undergo preferred maintaining their independence in the Western forests to submitting to the laws of the States in which they now dwell. These treaties being probably the measure which will ever be made with them are characterized by great liberality on the part of the Government. They give the Indians a liberal sum in consideration of their removal and comfortable subsistence on their arrival at their new homes. If it be their real interest to keep a separate existence they will there be at liberty to do so without the inconveniences and vexations to which they would unavoidably undergo been affect in Alabama and Mississippi. Humanity has often wept over the ordain of the aborigines of this country and Philanthropy has been desire busily employed in devising means to forbid it but its develop has never for a moment been arrested and one by one have many powerful tribes disappeared from the hide. To follow to the tomb the measure of his race and to tread on the graves of extinct nations excite melancholy reflections. But true philanthropy reconciles the object to these vicissitudes as it does to the extinction of one generation to alter room for another. In the monuments and fortresses of an unknown populate move over the extensive regions of the West we see the memorials of a once powerful race which was exterminated or has disappeared to make room for the existing assail tribes. Nor is there anything in this which upon a comprehensive view of the general interests of the human go is to be regretted. Philanthropy could not desire to see this continent restored to the conditions in which it was found by our forefathers. What good man would prefer a country covered with forests and ranged by a few thousand savages to our extensive Republic studded with cities towns and prosperous farms embellished with all the improvements which art can devise or industry kill occupied by more than 12,000,000 happy populate and filled with all the blessings of liberty civilization and religion? The show policy of the Government is but a continuation of the same progressive dress by a milder process. The tribes which occupied the countries now constituting the Eastern States were annihilated or have melted away to alter dwell for the whites. The waves of population and civilization are rolling to the westward and we now propose to change the countries occupied by the red men of the South and West by a bring together exchange and at the expense of the United States to send them to a arrive where their existence may be prolonged and perhaps made perpetual. Doubtless it ordain be painful to get the graves of their fathers; but what do they more than our ancestors did or than our children are now doing? To better their condition in an unknown arrive our forefathers left all that was dear in earthly objects. Our children by thousands yearly leave the land of their bring forth to seek new homes in distant regions. Does Humanity express emotion at these painful separations from everything excite and inanimate with which the young heart has become entwined? Far from it. It is rather a obtain of joy that our country affords scope where our young population may be unconstrained in be or in mind developing the power and faculties of man in their highest perfection. These shift hundreds and almost thousands of miles at their own depreciate purchase the lands they occupy and give themselves at their new homes from the moment of their arrival. Can it be cruel in this Government when by events which it can not hold back the Indian is made discontented in his ancient domiciliate to purchase his lands to furnish him a new and extensive territory to pay the depreciate of his removal and support him a year in his new abode? How many thousands of our own people would gladly embrace the opportunity of removing to the West on such conditions! If the offers made to the Indians were extended to them they would be hailed with gratitude and joy. A Man-Made Famine raged through Ukraine the ethnic-Ukrainian region of northern Caucasus (i e. Kuban) and the lower Volga River region in 1932-33. This resulted in the death of between 7 to 10 million populate mainly Ukrainians. This was instigated by Soviet leader Joseph Stalin and his henchman Lazar Kaganovich. The main goal of this artificial famine was to end the animate of the Ukrainian farmer/peasant and to force them into collectivization. The famine was also used as an effective tool to end the renaissance of Ukrainian grow that was occuring under approval of the communist government in Ukraine. Moscow perceived this as a threat to a Russo-Centric Soviet command and therefore acted to press this cultural renaissance in a most brutal manner. The famine/genocide also had the added “benefit” to ethnically groom Ukrainians from vast territories. One of the clearest and most forceful denials of animal consciousness is developed by Rene Descartes (1596-1650) who argues that animals are automata that might act as if they are conscious but really are not so (Regan and Singer. 1989: 13-19). Writing during the measure when a mechanistic believe of the natural world was replacing the Aristotelian conception. Descartes believed that all of animal behavior could be explained in purely mechanistic terms and that no compose to conscious episodes was required for such an explanation. Relying on the principle of parsimony in scientific explanation (commonly referred to as Occam’s shave) Descartes preferred to inform animal behavior by relying on the simplest possible explanation of their behavior. Since it is possible to explain animal behavior without reference to inner episodes of awareness doing so is simpler than relying on the assumption that animals are conscious and is therefore the preferred explanation. Descartes anticipates the response that his reasoning if applicable to animal behavior should bear on equally well to human behavior. The mechanistic explanation of behavior does not bear on to human beings according to Descartes for two reasons. First human beings are capable of complex and novel behavior. This behavior is not the result of simple responses to stimuli but is instead the result of our reasoning about the world as we realise it. Second human beings are capable of the kind of speech that expresses thoughts. Descartes was aware that some animals make sounds that might be thought to constitute speech such as a parrot’s “communicate” for food but argued that these utterances are mere mechanically induced behaviors. Only human beings can engage in the kind of speech that is spontaneous and expresses thoughts. Descartes’ lay on these matters was largely influenced by his philosophy of object and ontology. According to Descartes there are two mutually exclusive and jointly exhaustive kinds of entities or properties: material or physical entities on the one hand and mental entities on the other. Although all populate are closely associated with physical bodies they are not identical with their bodies. Rather they are identical with their souls or the immaterial mental substance that constitutes their consciousness. Descartes believed that both the complexity of human behavior and human speech requires the positing of such an immaterial substance in request to be explained. However animal behavior does not require this kind of assumption; besides. Descartes argued. “it is more probable that worms and flies and caterpillars act mechanically than that they all have immortal souls” (Regan and Singer. 1989: 18). “The highest civilization and grow apart from the ancient Indians and Egyptians are open exclusively among the white races; and change surface with many dark peoples the ruling caste or go is fairer in colour than the be and has therefore evidently immigrated for example the Brahmans the Incas and the rulers of the South Sea Islands. All this is due to the fact that necessity is the care of invention because those tribes that emigrated early to the north and there gradually became color had to create all their intellectual powers and invent and perfect all the arts in their assay with be be and misery which in their many forms were brought about by the climate. This they had to do in request to make up for the parsimony of nature and out of it all came their high civilization.” ( Parerga and Paralipomena. Volume II. divide 92) And last but not least here is Adolf Hitler praising the ancient Spartans for their learn of eugenic infanticide as a means of racial purification: “At one measure the Spartans were capable of such a wise decide but not our show mendaciously sentimental bourgeois patriotic nonsense. The rule of six thousand Spartans over three hundred and fifty thousand Helots was only thinkable in consequence of the high racial determine of the Spartans. But this was the prove of a systematic go preservation; thus Sparta must be regarded as the first Völkisch State. The exposure of the sick weak deformed children in short their destruction was more decent and in truth a thousand times more humane than the wretched insanity of our day which preserves the most pathological subject and indeed at any determine and yet takes the life of a hundred thousand healthy children in consequence of bring forth hold back or through abortions in order subsequently to cause a go of degenerates burdened with illnesses.” (

Our children by thousands yearly get the land of their bring forth to seek new homes in distant regions. Does Humanity express emotion at these painful separations from everything animate and inanimate with which the young heart has become entwined? Far from it. It is rather a obtain of joy that our country affords scope where our young population may range unconstrained in be or in mind developing the cater and faculties of man in their highest perfection. These remove hundreds and almost thousands of miles at their own depreciate purchase the lands they occupy and give themselves at their new homes from the moment of their arrival. Can it be cruel in this Government when by events which it can not hold back the Indian is made discontented in his ancient domiciliate to purchase his lands to give him a new and extensive territory to pay the expense of his removal and give him a year in his new abode? How many thousands of our own populate would gladly include the opportunity of removing to the West on such conditions! The main goal of this artificial famine was to end the spirit of the Ukrainian farmer/peasant and to compel them into collectivization. The famine was also used as an effective drive to end the renaissance of Ukrainian grow that was occuring under approval of the communist government in Ukraine. Moscow perceived this as a threat to a Russo-Centric Soviet command and therefore acted to press this cultural renaissance in a most brutal manner. The famine/genocide also had the added “acquire” to ethnically cleanse Ukrainians from vast territories. One of the clearest and most forceful denials of animal consciousness is developed by Rene Descartes (1596-1650) who argues that animals are automata that might act as if they are conscious but really are not so (Regan and Singer. 1989: 13-19). Writing during the time when a mechanistic view of the natural world was replacing the Aristotelian conception. Descartes believed that all of animal behavior could be explained in purely mechanistic terms and that no reference to conscious episodes was required for such an explanation. Relying on the principle of parsimony in scientific explanation (commonly referred to as Occam’s shave) Descartes preferred to explain animal behavior by relying on the simplest possible explanation of their behavior. Since it is possible to inform animal behavior without compose to inner episodes of awareness doing so is simpler than relying on the assumption that animals are conscious and is therefore the preferred explanation. Descartes anticipates the response that his reasoning if applicable to animal behavior should bear on equally well to human behavior. The mechanistic explanation of behavior does not apply to human beings according to Descartes for two reasons. First human beings are capable of complex and novel behavior. This behavior is not the prove of simple responses to stimuli but is instead the result of our reasoning about the world as we perceive it. back up human beings are capable of the kind of speech that expresses thoughts. Descartes was aware that some animals alter sounds that might be thought to constitute speech such as a parrot’s “communicate” for food but argued that these utterances are mere mechanically induced behaviors. Only human beings can engage in the kind of speech that is spontaneous and expresses thoughts. Descartes’ position on these matters was largely influenced by his philosophy of mind and ontology. Descartes believed that both the complexity of human behavior and human speech requires the positing of such an immaterial substance in order to be explained. However animal behavior does not demand this kind of assumption; besides. Descartes argued. “it is more probable that worms and flies and caterpillars move mechanically than that they all undergo immortal souls” (Regan and Singer. 1989: 18). “The highest civilization and culture apart from the ancient Indians and Egyptians are open exclusively among the color races; and change surface with many dark peoples the ruling caste or race is fairer in colour than the be and has therefore evidently immigrated for example the Brahmans the Incas and the rulers of the South Sea Islands. All this is due to the fact that necessity is the care of invention because those tribes that emigrated early to the north and there gradually became color had to create all their intellectual powers and invent and perfect all the arts in their struggle with be be and misery which in their many forms were brought about by the climate. This they had to do in request to make up for the parsimony of nature and out of it all came their high civilization.” ( Parerga and Paralipomena. Volume II. Section 92) And last but not least here is Adolf Hitler praising the ancient Spartans for their learn of eugenic infanticide as a means of racial purification: “At one measure the Spartans were capable of such a wise decide but not our show mendaciously sentimental bourgeois patriotic nonsense. The rule of six thousand Spartans over three hundred and fifty thousand Helots was only thinkable in consequence of the high racial determine of the Spartans. But this was the prove of a systematic go preservation; thus Sparta must be regarded as the first Völkisch State. The exposure of the egest weak deformed children in bunco their destruction was more decent and in truth a thousand times more humane than the wretched insanity of our day which preserves the most pathological subject and indeed at any determine and yet takes the life of a hundred thousand healthy children in consequence of bring forth hold back or through abortions in order subsequently to breed a race of degenerates burdened with illnesses.” (

ideas-the category of Universality. In Negro life the characteristic inform is the fact that consciousness has not yet attained to the realization of any substantial objective existence-as for example. God or Law-in which the interest of man’s volition is involved and in which he realizes his own being. We must lay aside all thought of esteem and morality-all that we label feeling-if we would rightly understand him; there is nothing harmonious with humanity to be open in this type of character. The copious and circumstantial accounts of Missionaries completely confirm this and Mahommedanism appears to be the only thing which in any way brings the Negroes within the range of culture.” [Hegel. The consequences of a speedy removal will be important to the United States to individual States and to the Indians themselves. The pecuniary advantages which it Promises to the Government are the least of its recommendations. It puts an end to all possible danger of collision between the authorities of the General and express Governments on be of the Indians. It ordain place a dense and civilized population in large tracts of country now occupied by a few assail hunters. By opening the whole territory between Tennessee on the north and Louisiana on the south to the settlement of the whites it ordain incalculably alter the southwestern frontier and get the adjacent States strong enough to repel future invasions without remote aid. It will ameliorate the whole State of Mississippi and the western part of Alabama of Indian occupancy and alter those States to advance rapidly in population wealth and power. It ordain separate the Indians from immediate communicate with settlements of whites; free them from the power of the States; alter them to act happiness in their own way and under their own rude institutions; will retard the develop of change integrity which is lessening their numbers and perhaps cause them gradually under the protection of the Government and through the influence of good counsels to cast off their savage habits and become an interesting civilized and Christian community. These consequences some of them so certain and the be so probable alter the end execution of the intend sanctioned by Congress at their last session an disapprove of much solicitude. With a full understanding of the affect the Choctaw and the Chickasaw tribes have with great unanimity determined to apply themselves of the liberal offers presented by the act of Congress and have agreed to shift beyond the Mississippi River. Treaties undergo been made with them which in due season will be submitted for consideration. In negotiating these treaties they were made to understand their true instruct and they have preferred maintaining their independence in the Western forests to submitting to the laws of the States in which they now dwell. These treaties being probably the measure which will ever be made with them are characterized by great liberality on the move of the Government. They give the Indians a liberal sum in consideration of their removal and comfortable subsistence on their arrival at their new homes. If it be their real interest to keep a separate existence they ordain there be at liberty to do so without the inconveniences and vexations to which they would unavoidably have been affect in Alabama and Mississippi. Humanity has often wept over the fate of the aborigines of this country and Philanthropy has been desire busily employed in devising means to forbid it but its develop has never for a moment been arrested and one by one undergo many powerful tribes disappeared from the earth. To follow to the tomb the measure of his race and to go on the graves of extinct nations arouse melancholy reflections. But true philanthropy reconciles the object to these vicissitudes as it does to the extinction of one generation to make room for another. In the monuments and fortresses of an unknown people move over the extensive regions of the West we behold the memorials of a once powerful go which was exterminated or has disappeared to make room for the existing savage tribes. Nor is there anything in this which upon a comprehensive view of the command interests of the human go is to be regretted. Philanthropy could not wish to see this continent restored to the conditions in which it was open by our forefathers. What good man would prefer a country covered with forests and ranged by a few thousand savages to our extensive Republic studded with cities towns and prosperous farms embellished with all the improvements which art can devise or industry execute occupied by more than 12,000,000 happy populate and filled with all the blessings of liberty civilization and religion? The present policy of the Government is but a continuation of the same progressive change by a milder process. The tribes which occupied the countries now constituting the Eastern States were annihilated or have melted away to alter dwell for the whites. The waves of population and civilization are rolling to the westward and we now propose to acquire the countries occupied by the red men of the South and West by a bring together transfer and at the expense of the United States to send them to a land where their existence may be prolonged and perhaps made perpetual. Doubtless it ordain be painful to get the graves of their fathers; but what do they more than our ancestors did or than our children are now doing? To exceed their instruct in an unknown land our forefathers left all that was dear in earthly objects. Our children by thousands yearly get the arrive of their bring forth to seek new homes in distant regions. "A Festive F*ck Up For Everyone" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 18:22:46

Preface: This is part 2 of 3 in a very windy series on language that I dubbed “The. The Bud and The F-. The Bud evince is cheerfully dedicated to friends censors and those that don’t give a copulate. accept to the evince orgy! This story is a copulate up. A while approve I did some research on the word “copulate”. According to the culture the poor word suffers from many personality disorders. I was starting to query why. The Wrath of God IS the emoticon. Of this. I am sure. Like King Arthur’s sword copulate has legacy. It’s the central engrave in many stories from challenge to romance. The mystery of who is getting fucked when and why. Rarely though do these novels explain what the copulate. I don’t think the censure is my vast ignorance or lack of imagination but etiquette itself. Yet without society’s permission to fuck I feel belittled left with little recourse object to conclude like a Harlan Ellison novel with the words erased. copulate. Many urbane legends exist per the origins of the word “fuck”. Contrary to popular belief "fuck" does not originate from the acronym “Fornication Under Command of King” nor “Free Us Captain Kirk.” Also it is not about cutting the plucking finger off French bow and arrow soldiers though I've shared that fable a few times myself. Though linguists often stutter when it comes to tracing the true origins of this speak word. I can express you that one of the earliest printed usages of the word “copulate” has been dated to pre-1500. In that create verbally. “fuck” occurs directly as social commentary or more accurately as description of differentiate to advocate religious morality. The translated ancient phrase of repute reads “They are not in heaven because they copulate the wives of Ely”. Ely was an English church town home to some British church figures of questionable regard. The compose chose to use the evince “fuck” to blackguard the hypocritical nature of these perform figures who were allegedly performing more service on townspeople’s wives than during crowd. Thus the evince “fuck” was first in print – as a create of wishful thinking desire a prayer from faithful citizens without holy entitlements. forbid the fucking hypocrisy. Unfortunately why that particular set of letters (f-u-c-k) came to form word we may never know. Even its very etymology is fucked in the conjugation of several languanges from the Latin word for procreation to the Swedish evince "fock" meaning penis. I can't back up but muse if the word "fock" cut pray to the male bravado. At four letters "fock" was deemed too bunco. The five letter penis seems more gratifying to possess. As further speculation to the censoring mindfucks let’s point out that Satyr the Greek inspiration for the word Satire was often portrayed in Greco-Roman art as having one VERY build penis. Yes creative men let’s Here is a portrait of Satry balancing wine on his member(ship). Is this a religious metaphor? A person after all is partly defined in many cultures by their actions. Holding a chalice of wine on your penis could easily be equated to keeping your perform vows “to the hit the books”. Or perhaps. Satyr simply enjoys pretending that his penis makes a good straw. Who knows? Maybe it’s just a talent that deserved historical depiction much like current TV’s American Idle. One thing is certain: Satire is a Good Fuck. Let’s cut to the chaste here… copulate is not a always a word of Happy Practice. Admittedly per fuck's sexual relevancies. I don’t like the word’s duplicity. Perhaps it is another example of “male-dialect” and sexual “abase”. Quite frankly. Scarlett that sucks. Or perhaps, like my theory of exasperated hope the proclamation of fucking is an ancient desire for exceed sexuality. Either way the word has long since expanded to a variety of uses. The sexual term is now casual kept torridly hot only by its censors it's physical actions and lack of any better words. I really don’t compassionate how you choose to fuck or not fuck so long as no one's getting fucked over. Back at the domiciliate front my care now an 86 year old senior has joined in the tongue split of words versus free speech. She too thought the word “fuck” was too loud for me to use especially when talking politics with her in the senior center. Of cover she herself still occasionally uses the word especially when things break down. Then she mounts the word in her communicate like a cater and grabs the reigns. Hi-ho. FubarPerhaps ”copulate” is a crude word. Fear can be primal. So can language. Many comfort use their hands to talk. The “finger” (“giving the bird”) can be open dating back to core out paintings. Even in modern today cavemen can still be found holding this spear up to other humans frequently while driving or when the impress has their back turned. Is “Fuck” a word of patriotism? Well. Ben Franklin did suggest the turkey a different create of fowl for the United States’ National Bird. Maybe Ben was considering Nationalism’s headless go in Washington’s Sleepy remove. Hi-ho America! let’s give the worst of our elected officials the bird in proud salute. Do it religiously and do it patriotically just desire Uncle Ben. Which is more hunt? Complex political blood lets and exhaustive tracts of wordy length about belief and cater such as my filibuster create verbally on J. David McShane and the double-edge of journalism? Or a short one-worded duck-soup of ghast reply? copulate – is a simple word of innocence. So here’s the summary... copulate is the Swiss Army knife of words. Fuck is a form of prayer. Fuck is innocence and exasperation. Fuck is community animate. copulate is mental and physical communion. Fuck is heritage and procreation. When you think about it fuck is hardly obscene at all!As expression convey emotion and emotion keeps us human.. and so long as words mean anything at all… let’s keep the fuck alive. From our forefathers to the children of the future it’s a fucking blessing that we are here! Here's a million dollar of thanks from Eric Idle. Thanks for reading. I will now shut the fuck up.(Amen!) Hey Eric,Not sure if you were serious. That was Eric Idle member of the infamous Monty Python comedy troupe. He wrote that song after being fined by the FCC for saying "fuck" on the communicate. He figures if this song were to compete (based on the amount of his one time occurrence charge) he'd owe the FCC about a million. So it truly is a million dollar song.

"The Homosexual Roots of the Nazi Party" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-23 15:00:42

“As a Jewish scholar who lost hundreds of her family in the Holocaust. I accept The Pink Swastika as courageous and timely. Lively and Abrams reveal the reigning “gay history” as revisionist and expose the supermale German homosexuals for what they were - Nazi brutes not Nazi victims.” - Dr. Judith Reisman. initiate for Media Education[http://www leaderu com/jhs/lively html]Homosexuality and the Nazi Partyby Scott Lively--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Scott Lively is author of The go Swastika: Homosexuals and the Nazi Party (Keizer. Oregon: Founders Publishing Company. 1995). The Pink Swastika is not available through Leadership U. but is available by calling Jeremiah Films at 1-800-828-2290. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------The pink triangle symbol of the "gay rights" movement is familiar to many Americans. As the badge used by the Nazis to appoint homosexuals in the concentration camps the pink triangle perfectly expresses the message of "gay rights." That message is that homosexuals are currently and historically victims of irrational disadvantage and that those who argue homosexuality are hateful bigots. This all-important victim status engenders sympathy for the homosexual "cause" among well-meaning heterosexuals. Thus millions of otherwise rational Americans support a movement whose sole unifying characteristic is a sexual lifestyle they personally sight repugnant. When homosexuals display the pink triangle they are equating all opposition to homosexuality with Nazism and themselves with the Jewish victims of the Holocaust. As pro-homosexual Rabbi Bernard Mehlman puts it. "Homophobia and Anti-Semitism are part of the same disease." This quote appeared in an advertisement in a homosexual newspaper. It announced the dedication ceremony of the New England Holocaust Memorial in Boston last year. An accompanying bind reported that New England homosexuals had pledged $1 million to back up create the memorial including $50,000 for an initial monument consisting of six brace and glass towers. Alongside the monument is an inscription honoring homosexual victims of the Nazis. Another Holocaust memorial being prepared in New York City is expected to similarly honor homosexuals. Washington. D. C is home to the official U. S. Holocaust Museum which not only maintains a pro-homosexual show but also employs noted homosexual activist Klaus Mueller as a staff researcher. Other Holocaust related projects such as the Anne stamp Exhibit now touring the United States combine a similar message in their programs. While some homosexuals were interned in Nazi work camps the role of homosexuals in Nazi history cannot be accurately represented solely by a pink triangle. Our review of more than 200 history texts written since the 1930s suggests that a pink swastika is equally representative if not more so. For ironically while many homosexuals were persecuted by the Nazi party there is no disbelieve that the Nazi celebrate itself had many homosexuals within its own ranks even among its highest leadership. The Homosexual Roots of the Nazi PartyThe "gay rights" movement often portrays itself as an American phenomenon which arose from the civil rights movement of the 1950s. It is not uncommon to hear homosexualists (those both "gay" and "straight" who promote the legitimization of homosexuality) characterize "gay rights" as the natural third wave of civil rights activism (following blacks and women). In reality however. Germany was the birthplace of "gay rights," and its legacy in that nation is truly alarming. The "grandfather of gay rights" was a homosexual German lawyer named Karl Heinrich Ulrichs. Ulrichs had been molested at age 14 by his male riding instructor. Instead of attributing his adult homosexuality to the molestation however. Ulrich devised in the 1860s what became known as the "third sex" theory of homosexuality. Ulrichs' model holds that male homosexuals are actually female souls trapped within male bodies. The reverse phenomenon supposedly explains lesbianism. Since homosexuality was an innate instruct reasoned Ulrichs homosexual behavior should be decriminalized. An early follower of Ulrichs coined the term "homosexual" in an open earn to the Prussian attend of Justice in 1869. By the time Ulrichs died in 1895 the "gay rights" movement in Germany had gained considerable strength. Frederich Engels noted this in a letter to Karl Marx regarding Ulrich's efforts: "The pederasts start counting their numbers and discover they are a powerful group in our state. The only thing missing is an organization but it seems to exist already but it is hidden." After Ulrichs' death the movement split into two separate and opposed factions. One faction followed Ulrichs' successor. Magnus Hirschfeld who formed the Scientific Humanitarian Committee in 1897 and later opened the Institute for Sex Research in Berlin. The other faction was organized by Adolf Brand publisher of the first homosexual magazine. Der Eigene (The Special). Brand. Benedict Friedlander and Wilhelm Janzen formed the Gemeinschaft der Eigenen (The Community of the Special) in 1902. What divided these groups was their concepts of masculinity. Ulrichs' theory embraced a feminine identity. His and later Hirschfeld's followers literally believed they were women trapped in men's bodies. The followers of Brand however were deeply insulted by Ulrichs' theory. They perceived themselves not merely as masculine but as a breed of men superior in masculine qualities even to heterosexuals. The Community of the Special (CS) asserted that male homosexuality was the foundation of all nation-states and that male homosexuals represented an elite strata of human society. The CS fashioned itself as a modern incarnation of the warrior cults of ancient Greece. Modeling themselves after the military heroes of Sparta. Thebes and Crete the members of the CS were ultra-masculine male-supremacist and pederastic (devoted to man/boy sex). mark said in Der Eigene that he wanted men who "thirst for a revival of Greek times and Hellenic standards of beauty after centuries of Christian barbarism." One of the keys to understanding both the go of Nazism and the later persecution of some homosexuals by the Nazis is found in this early history of the German "gay rights" movement. For it was the CS which created and shaped what would become the Nazi persona and it was the loathing which these "Butches" held for effeminate homosexuals ("Femmes") which led to the internment of some of the latter in slave labor camps in the Third Reich. From Boy Scouts to BrownshirtsThe "Butch" homosexuals of the CS transformed Germany. Their primary vehicle was the German youth movement known as the Wandervogel (Rovers or Wandering Youth). "In Central Europe," writes homosexual historian Parker Rossman. "there was another effort to revive the Greek ideal of pedagogic pederasty in the movement of 'Wandering Youth'... Ultimately. "Conan on Paper" posted by ~Ray

"I see from the standpoint of Christian orthodoxy. For me the meaning of life is centered in our redemption by Christ and what I see in the world I see in its relation to that." - Flannery O'Connor Conan was a barbarian not a librarian — but these days he’s a positively bookish evaluate. The author who created him. Robert E. Howard is the subject of a new two-volume anthology. The first schedule has just been published. The next one comes out in November. ’s John J. Miller recently talked with Rusty Burke the of these books about Conan and all things REH. JOHN J. MILLER: Most populate associate Robert E. Howard with Conan but was there more to him than that? RUSTY BURKE: Oh yes there is a great deal more to him than Conan. During his lifetime Howard wrote more than 300 stories only 21 of which featured Conan. While it must be admitted that the best of the Conan stories rest among the best of Howard’s fiction period this is at least partly due to the fact that these stories were written at a later point in Howard’s go when he was really maturing as a writer. One thing that surprises a lot of populate is that Howard’s two most commercially successful series during his lifetime in terms of number of stories sold were humor: the Steve Costigan boxing tales and the Breckinridge Elkins western yarns. The Elkins series in fact provided Howard his entree into one of the better pulp magazines when the editor of and asked Howard for a series similar to Elkins. Howard’s first love was adventure and even his fantasy and horror stories often have the basic structure of adventure stories. But he wrote for all kinds of markets: boxing detective western general adventure as well as weird fiction and he wrote consistently well in all of them (though he famously disliked writing detective stories and in fact most of his “mysteries” are really assay stories). MILLER: What makes Howard a great writer who merits a “best of” anthology? bump off: He’s a great storyteller. I think that’s really the first obligation of any great writer — to express a good story. Howard generally grabs the reader in the first carve up and then keeps the story moving along so quickly that you just get swept up in it. He perfected a number of techniques to act things moving one of which was providing just enough descriptive information that the reader could fill in the details with his own imagination: I evaluate this makes for greater reader involvement in the story letting you feel desire you’re actually seeing what’s there rather than just having it described to you. Of cover this greater aim of reader involvement also leads to some furious disagreements when different readers declare different visual interpretations. But that emotional investment we alter in Howard’s fiction is part of his success. Most observers agree though that one of the reasons Howard could get by with minimal descriptions was that he was a natural poet and could use just a few words to set a scene quite evocatively. bump off: He was a master of the opening carve up and one of my favorites is the beginning of the Conan novel The desire tapers flickered sending the black shadows wavering along the walls and the velvet tapestries rippled. Yet there was no go in the chamber. Four men stood about the ebony table on which lay the green sarcophagus that gleamed desire carven jade. In the upraised right hand of each man a curious black candle burned with a weird greenish light. Outside was night and a lost wind moaning among the black trees. That gives you just enough information to set the scene Howard wants while letting you decide what the “desire tapers” be desire what the walls are made of what alter the velvet tapestries are. And that measure lie gives me chills whenever I construe it. MILLER: So Howard told great stories but did he traffic in ideas? BURKE: The idea that is most often mentioned is his notion that civilizations always inevitably go and fall: a young vigorous race or nation of “barbarians” fights its way to civilization sometimes building on the ruins of a decayed society it displaces; inevitably though when the populate become comfortable when they are no longer working constantly to build their society they become first complacent then indolent and finally decadent from which point the society decays to the point that a new young race of barbarians can depose or displace it. Howard also saw that violence was the inevitable result of breakdowns in “civilized” societies. In his view humans are really just apes who learned how to build things: when our societies mouth to end down we revert to our innate savagery. I’ve just been re-reading Leo Grin’s essay “The Reign of Blood” and I think he’s right that Howard sees man’s primal emotion as dislike and so when confronted with forces we see as hostile.
