I hate getting old. Oh it's not the crow's feet at the edge of the eyes or the bags under them. It's not the sagging of some parts the inner tube effect of others or even the occasional forgetting of details dates or names. What I hate about aging is being forced by the media of all things to reach opinions that reinforce a creeping conservativism in my view of the world. The latest example of this is Home Box Office. HBO once the gold standard in pay cable channels it just keeps on sinking lower and lower. Pretty soon we won't call the bottom the "gutter," we'll refer to it as HBO. Have you experienced any of HBO's current late-night summer programming? The grisly animated violence of "Spawn"? The jaw-dropping atrocities and language of the prison drama "Oz"? The crude crass and over-the-line sound and video of hookers and their johns in "America Undercover: Hookers at the Point II: Going Out Again"? This isn't another rant about showing objectionable programming during hours when kids will watch. While I'm sure plenty of teens find ways of watching this stuff even if their parents know to object. I'm just personally offended. Boundaries -- imagined and real -- are being crossed every day and not just on HBO of course. The word "tits" may be uttered in an upcoming episode of 's new drama. "Cracker," according to. On the other hand when Penthouse recently trumpeted its boldness in publishing photographs of actual intercourse nobody blinked. Then again this is the same magazine whose much ballyhooed "alien autopsy" pictures were swiftly discredited. The days of seeing bare backsides -- even Dennis Franz's -- seems almost quaint now by comparison. What I object to is having my generally liberal social views pressed by such issues and finding I'm not as open-minded and likely to say "whatever" as I thought. Where was the line and when did HBO cross it? I can't say exactly but it was somewhere between hidden cameras in its series which I admired and wiring hookers so we could hear them urging on their clients' erections in the backseats of parked cars. Or maybe it was the difference between the jokes about certain sex acts on HBO's award-winning "Larry Sanders Show" and the same acts being carried out behind glass in first episode of "Oz."These shows demonstrate the useless news of TV ratings. HBO was warning viewers of potentially offensive program content long before the networks ever felt the need tipping us off about language sexual or violent content. But that turned out to be a Trojan horse for slipping all manner of graphic smut into our living rooms. Ratings only work if you catch them at the very beginning of a telecast and ironically if they are as specific as HBO's. They aren't repeated -- with rare exception -- during the course of a program although networks have no shame in slipping their logs in the corner of the screen. And please don't give me the broadcast vs cable standards argumen that people choose to pay for cable programming whereas the free broadcast networks are everywhere. Cable TV is far too prevalent now for that. I think there's a place for which owns HBO to telecast and make money on these programs just as I know I can always change the channel when I see something that offends my own sensibilities. My own mother-in-law a Czech-born card-carrying Republican has watched every program I've mentioned here and has no problem with any of them unlike myself. I just don't think good old HBO is the right place. It's time to split the channel's wares into two channels one well-rounded assortment of pedestrian fare that won't making new Time Warner Vice Chairman Ted Turner -- or me -- squirm and the other a clearly labeled adult-oriented network. If you've seen these shows you know I'm not being prudish. And let me say. I have always enjoyed much of HBO's other adult-oriented fare including "Real Sex," and "Sex Bytes." Bad "B" movies with thin plots and gratuitous nudity don't offend me either. This next affix is a short story I wrote a while back now it might not be overly apparent when reading it at first but the two characters Samyira and Kale are half-orcs. Which means they tend to be bulky and somewhat unpleasant at least to those that aren't half-orcs. Despite this they love each other and find one another appealing. Quick background Samyira came from a place where she was shunned by all but her adoptive father; she arrived in a new area and met Kale. Kale showed her a place that didn't shun her and where despite his heritage he had a position of power. This story I think is very interesting because if people didn't know what the main characters heritage was it might just be another bit of smut. Goes to show.. beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Samyira and Kale are based off of characters played elsewhere; I changed their names and the label of the place they meet at to deliver the other player any embarressment if for some reason someone was able to make the connection.========================================Barracks of all sorts tend to undergo a scent to them it wasn't unpleasant but it reminded one of contend and of war. The scent of old leather oils used to keep metals and cloths seasoned and underlying it all the scent of salty sweat. The barracks in Ashewood were no different this scent filled the corridors less so then in some places since they were kept more clean then most. Samyira walked the quiet hallways a slight smile on her approach as she let the scent and look of the place change posture in. Growing up with a weapons trainer as the closest thing one has to a father had it's affect on her and for Samyira it meant that she would always be drawn to places such as these. These barracks were not used much but from further in the building she heard a muffled come down and cursing. Her curiosity peaked she starts toward the go. The equipment dwell was rather small and located within the very center of the barracks connected to the sleeping quarters at a time of day when this part of the isle is deserted it was a very unlikely place to find someone. Corrya lived in the upper chambers of the place but for the next few days she was gone leaving the building mostly untouched. Hearing scuffling and movement inside Samyira steps quietly and leans against the frame of the door. A slight smile plays over her face as she watches the man inside; wearing dark armor over his large frame Kale attempts to upright a fallen weapon rack. Standing back once he gets the rack up right he then continues his examine around the equipment room. Samyira lets the noise of his examine obscure her presence a while longer as she stands admiring his movements. Though not one for agility he made up for it with strong and sure movements and truth be told Samyira was more then slightly bias; Kale had shown her a world she never thought existed. For her in this new place were she didn't have to be afraid of being shunned she had made him a central point. After a few more moments of his search Kale holds up a cleaning kit and some oils for weapon priming. Seeing his examine ending Samyira thinks quickly; her smile widening at her thoughts last she remembered he didn't have to meet with anyone this afternoon. The scent of the barracks and the sight of him sending a strange passion through her she moves forward biting her lip slightly before speaking softly to let him know of her presence."I can show you how to use that kit alter," she speaks softly near his ear. Not expecting anyone to happen by Kale turns in start almost dropping everything in his hands. "Samyira you just about gave me heart failure," he mutters a smile comes to his face as he watches her. "Though it is a pleasant surprise to sight you here," with those words his eyes drink her in she was wearing a change in the dark color she so favors; sleeveless for the change weather it leaves her well muscled arms bare except for plate bracelets that shimmer slightly in the light. Letting a hush go over the area Kale pauses realizing he has been admiring how the thin fabric falls over her firm breasts for several long moments. Grinning wryly Samyira takes that moment to smooth the avoid of her furnish over her wide but come up defined hips. "so do you undergo a few moments to spare?" The tone of the question was definitely not leaning toward teaching him how to use the weapon repair kit. She teases gently and glances up at him through the curtain of hair; though perfectly versed in how the latches on the armor worked for now that wasn’t the bet. Kale chuckles slightly watching her letting his eyes run over her young strong close in he admires her fit and slightly bulky be. "are you calling me old?" Reaching out he tucks the bit of hair that has fallen into her eyes behind her ear. Then watching her closely he moves his hand over to neatly unlatch move of the armor at the side. A sound like a purring in her throat is heard as she leans in and kisses the underside of his jaw line; her hands move down the latches quickly and expertly unlatching them. "I have always wondered about something," her voice holds the tone of being conversational as she starts to strip him of his equip. Being in a relatively safe displace and never having qualms over being nude he tilts his head and answers her in good nature. "and what is it that you query about?"Kneeling before him as she strips drink his boots Samyira looks up the naked line of his be. "chaffing you refuse to wear anything under your armor. Kale leans against one of the sturdier weapons racks as she looks over him shifting slightly on his feet and stretching in a brush aside pose for her as he answers. "I told you before. I am just use to it."Her eyes slightly wide she stares after him a moment once his stretching is end then she shakes her head getting her mindset back. "Ah…well I am going to analyse anyway." Taking her well muscled and trained hands she moves one to the top of his inner thigh and the other around to his outer; she moves them until they are at the spot where the hip and leg meet her hand brushing gently against the bottom of his testicles. At her soft but firm touch Kale drops from his stretch making a small appear of affect once he feels where her hands are.
