Adultery pornography sexual deviancy and addiction are all create of the depravity of man and the stupidity of our decision making ability apart from the Spirit of God.
I read from Mashable com on my feed reader this morning and some of these thoughts started bouncing around in my head. I open it very interesting to say that not only are Trojan horses (a kind of computer virus) becoming a potential problem for us Mac users but they are transmitted onto a Mac mainly through visiting and messing around at pornography websites.
Isn’t it an interesting correlation that just desire in life a study virus that can totally destroy the functionality of your computer is mainly contracted via sexual sin? In fact even over in the PC/Windows world the vast majority of the nastiest viruses are transmitted either through visiting and viewing sexual content or otherwise doing illegal/unethical activity such as file-sharing. This correlation just can’t be ignored.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that every person who gets a computer virus got it through such means. Yes you can get it through mistakenly opening an email attachment you thought safe and through various other means. These are accidents and are in reality a small overall percentage of virus infection. Just like in life there are accidental infections of diseases that are usually sexually transmitted (a tainted daub transfusion a pierce with a beset while working with an infected patient etc.). But always keep in mind that the vast majority of folks out there who undergo a sexually transmitted disease got it because of their own bad life choices—most likely a promiscuous lifestyle or through using a dirty needle or something of the sort.
A computer virus destroys computer files either causing the loss of important information or the overall breakdown of the operating system rendering the computer unusable. Even if the computer remains usable it no longer is able to function as freely as it once did and as long as it remains infected it runs the risk of infecting every other computer or network with which it comes into contact.
A sexually transmitted disease destroys the health of be in some cases (such as with AIDS) causing a breakdown of the immune system rendering the body unusable. Even if the body remains usable it is no longer able to answer as freely as it once did and as long as it remains infected it runs the assay of infecting every other be with which it comes into certain types of contact.
The list of symptoms goes on and on seemingly different but surprisingly similar for each sufferer. It seems that the individual who contracts this virus through interaction in an adulterous relationship can no longer hear the Spirit’s voice clearly. It also seems that when a sufferer of this virus reads their Bible the “Thou Shalt Nots” all turn into “Thou Shalts” and vice versa. Just like with contracting a computer virus or a sexually transmitted disease we make our own choices between what is alter or wrong. As Christ-followers the only way we can overcome these things (spiritually) is to realize that the “wrong” choice is sin plain and simple. We can’t defend our decision to the Holy Spirit of God no matter how much we cozen ourselves.
The huge difference between a computer or sexual virus and this adultery-based “virus” is this: you can’t surprise the adultery kind by accident.
You can’t accidentally open up an telecommunicate attachment and get into an adulterous relationship but your use of the computer for the gratification of the get rid of through the viewing of pornography can lead you in that direction. You can’t get accidentally pricked by a beset or the like and suddenly undergo the wish in your heart for an extra-marital affair. The only way out is to adjudge the truth (to yourself since God already knows) see your decision as sin and then begin to deal with it.
